Charles Shaw wine for $2.24? Thats insanity!

A proposal to raise the state tax on wine to a level more than six times higher..raise the tax on wine to 29.6 cents for a 750-milliliter bottle from 4 cents 

A six times higher tax on wine!  Not only are we depressed about the economy and our incompetent state leadership we will be forced to pay a tax on the very thing that could bring us some temporary relief.  Don’t get me wrong I do not believe in covering up hardship will alcohol but at times it does make life a little easier.

Tax hike would put Chuck over its famed Two Bucks - Los Angeles Times.
