The possibilities include cutting $3.6 billion from education, reducing the state’s firefighting budget by 10%, and releasing 40,000 low-risk inmates to cut prison costs, Mr. Schwarzenegger said. The state also may have to borrow $2 billion from local governments, he said.

Great Arnold, cut the programs that a bare bones government is supports to support and keep all the fat!

Arnold also stated that “This is not a scare tactic,”. Then what is it Arnold? I can come up with a long list of programs that can be be cut today with little to no impact on the majority of voters. And no those cuts do not include teachers, firefighters, policemen, state park ranges or necessary public works projects.

Please stop this crap and just make the necessary cuts! It’s like a band-aid, it’s time to close our eyes and pull it off.

SACRAMENTO — Assembly GOP leader Mike Villines of Clovis is expected to resign his leadership post today, as anger builds among anti-tax conservatives over a budget deal he negotiated.

The Assembly’s 29 Republican members will vote on his replacement at a morning meeting, although Villines is expected to keep the job during a transition period. The favored candidate appears to be Sam Blakeslee of San Luis Obispo.

“According to a recent study by the nonpartisan Congressional Budget Office, those who make more than $43,200 (the top 40%) pay 99.1% of all income taxes, the taxes that support our troops in Iraq and Afghanistan, and, for example, fund the federal portion of transportation, education, environmental and welfare spending.”

This is shocking, mostly to the California Taxpayer! Who in California that works hard, has a family and perhapse owns a home makes less than $43,200? And the state wants to collect more and more money from the taxpayer. Amazingly stupid!

And to rub salt in the wound 40/100 people do not pay ANY taxes! But they get stimulus checks!

I Need a Bailout!

My apologies for not posting anything for over a week. I was vacationing to get some rest from work. Like most of us I work extremely hard so I can pay all my bills without a bailout! SEAL BEACH, CA, APRIL 17, 2009 – Taxpayers have announced the organization of a political committee to recall California State Assemblyman Jim Silva (67 AD) – TAXPAYERS UNITED TO RECALL JIM SILVA.

Taxpayers United to Recall Jim Silva represents California taxpayers frustrated with state tax increases and reckless spending. In a recent budget deal, California lawmakers reached a bipartisan agreement to raise taxes on Californians, who already pay the highest income and sales taxes in the nation. Taxpayers United decided to focus their efforts on Jim Silva, a second-term Assemblyman representing the 67th District, which includes Anaheim, Cypress, Garden Grove, Huntington Beach, La Palma, Los Alamitos, Rossmoor, Seal Beach, Stanton, Sunset Beach, and Westminster.. Silva, they claim, broke his pledge to protect taxpayers and deserves to be recalled.

When he ran for office, Jim Silva, like many Republican candidates, took a pledge to oppose tax increases. He broke that pledge by protecting the Republican leadership who voted for tax increases and by endorsing fellow Republicans who voted for tax increases, argues Taxpayers United. Silva protected Republican Assembly leader Mike Villines, who negotiated the tax increases on hardworking Californians, claims the group. Villines also voted for the tax increases, breaking his own pledge to oppose taxes. When Irvine Assemblyman Chuck DeVore attempted to remove Villines as Republican leader, Silva protected Villines by refusing to support DeVore.

Silva also endorsed controversial Republican Assemblyman Anthony Adams, an outspoken supporter of the tax increases. Adams also broke his taxpayer pledge by voting for the tax increases. After approving the tax increases, Adams, sought the endorsements of his fellow Republicans for his 2010 reelection bid. Silva endorsed Adams, despite Adams’ betrayal of his taxpayer pledge. “The facts speak for themselves,” claims Taxpayers United, “The facts show that Jim Silva betrayedtaxpayers by breaking his pledge to oppose tax increases.” This is not about party or ideology, they say. It is about holding lawmakers accountable!

A Day Without a Taxpayer

It is our duty as taxpayers of this great state to send a message to the leaders of hte state. Show them you disapprove of these new taxes by refraining from purchasing anything that is taxed using a sales tax.
