At least some people in government are thinking straight. A Sacramento judge Thursday gave Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger the green light to furlough hundreds of thousands of state employees for two days a month, rejecting a union challenge that the governor exceeded his authority in issuing the December order. This is great news, now people in the government can feel the same pinch that most people in the private sector are feeling. it is hard to understand why they cannot see that having a job with slightly lower pay is infinitely better than not having a job at all! At this point the furloughs will be enforced until the unions get a new day in court.
We have to consider moving against anyone who would support a change in these conditions, these standards for workers in California, whether it be a Democrat or a Republican
What condition? The state running out of money? The unions seem to be getting an even bigger head than before. Do you think that the unions and there members in California really see the problem and understand that everyone must make sacrifices so the the entire system can continue to work. That is like the Nash equilibrium in game theory. If the state is unable to cut expenses the state will go bankrupt! After that all union contracts are void and a judge decides what concessions the organizations will be forces to make. Hopefully it does not come to that but if it has to then it will happen.
